She began dropping pebbles into the pitcher, and with each pebble the water rose a little higher until at last it reached the brim, and the knowing birdwas enabled toquench her thirst.

一只乌鸦口渴了，找到了一只装着水的水罐，不过水罐中的水很少，他试了半天，嘴巴总是够不到水。唉，尽管水就在眼前，但他可能会被活活渴死。最后，它灵光一闪，想到了一个主意。它捡起小石子丢到水罐中，每丢进去一颗石子，水面就上升一点，到了最后，乌鸦的嘴巴终于碰到水面了。这只聪明的乌鸦解了渴。
